The 1st International Conference and Expo on Telecommunications, Information and Networking (LAO COMNET and TELECOMWORLD EXPO 2005)
Vientiane, December 20th, 2005 – Today, as approval from Prime Minister office of the Government of Lao PDR, and under the main hosting organizations - Ministry of Communications, Transports, Posts and Constructions, Posts and Telecommunications Departement in cooperation with the International Data Group (IDG) held the 1st Lao International Conference and Expo on Telecommunications, Information & Networking at the Don Chan Palace, Vientiane on December 19-21, 2005.
The event has an important meaning when Laos has become one of the attractive investment destinations and Lao telecommunication has become a target of many foreign investors.
Lao telecommunication and Internet infrastructure will be upgraded with high technology in order to provide customers with high quality services. The event will be an opportunity for products and services suppliers and providers to show their overwhelming technology strength with multi-application communication and discuss optimal solutions for the developing countries like Laos.
Lao ComNet and TelecomWorld Expo 2005 focuses on introducing the significant development of broadband, especially the hottest wireless and latest mobile technology which are penetrating into Laos, an emerging market on communication and networking in the region. It is the integration on ICT that makes Laos becoming the market opportunities that can create as well as challenges to bring these possessing the latest and suitable technologies. At the event, services and solutions providers will present the ever-more sophisticated of multi-application communication technologies onto developed countries and to extend ICT services within developing countries, to areas where current infrastructure is limited or non-completeness.
Following the above-mentioned trends, Lao ComNet and TelecomWorld Expo 2005 conference will focus on introducing the latest development of mobile, wireless field, multi-media entertainment, next generation network. This is a prestigious forum for telecommunication infrastructure managers to exploit study and discuss business experience and solutions for the potential and fast-growing mobile market. And, other areas such as broad-band internet, information security, mobile services improvement, IP, VoIP services innovation and diversification, the effects of satellite information system to telecommunication landscape will be a focal point to the discussion.
The Exposition with over 40 companies joining in booths from 7 countries in the region and over the world which is held at the same time with the Conference, will show and introduce state of the art technology solutions and product. Visitors will witness varieties of high-class technology products, mobile information systems, WPAN, Wi-Fi/Lan system, multi-media entertainment products, modern application software provided by well-known local and foreign communication and technology companies such as ETL, Huawei, UTStarcom, Lao Telecommunications, VNPT, Lao Asia Telecommunications, Planet Online, Datacom, Lanexang Internet Service, LRES…..
The event is expected to draw more than 4,000 delegates and visitors, of which 500 delegates including government officials, ICT experts from Airlines, Petrolium, NGOs, representatives of Ministries and relating industries, telecommunication companies, members of post and telecommunication department from provinces and Lao enterprises in ICT business, etc will participate in the conference.
