Press release Softmart & Techmart World 2006 October, 25th – 28th, 2006 Opening ceremony: 8:30 am, Wednesday, 25 October, 2006 Venue: Phu Tho Stadium, 221 Ly Thuong Kiet, District 11, Hochiminh City TechMart has been recognized as high technologies and equipments fair which initiated by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee since 1999. As a part of TechMart, SoftMart specialized in software IT solutions has been held from 2000. This annual event has been held under the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee’s direction to represent as the government concern and support to the science technology and software, which are fledgling industries in Vietnam. Being assigned by Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee to Science and Technology Department, Center for Science & Technology Information of Ho Chi Minh city – CESTI is resposible for conducting this mission. SoftMart-TechMart World is the necessary activity to create an environment to connect sciences and business, in which government management is supporting and encouraging organization to push the development, contribute in creating Technology market. Therefore, SoftMart-TechMart World is not only an event to display technology equipments as same as others, but also to be a bridge for business matching, networking. I. SoftMart-TechMart World 2006 Highlights: - Technology, equipment, software and IT solutions fair - Business matching, Supply – demand connection - Conference, theme “Evaluate intellectual property – intangible property in enterprise” - Typical product introducing with 45 technologies, equipments, software and IT solutions are the most updated from the enterprises. 1. Technology, equipment, software and IT solution exhibition The combination of SoftMart and TechMart enhance this event to become the largest- scale than ever in its event. The organizers estimate that there will are about 100,000 visitors coming, trading and signing contract, MOU, technology transfer… at this fair. More than 5,000m2 at Phu Tho Sport Center is covered by over 200 domestic and foreign exhibitors. The number of showcase rises up to 420 booths, in which there are more than 250 software showcases and 250 technology ones. All of them are well-prepared and arranged meticulously and attractively. Business Matching, Supply-demand connection This is one of decisive important content in the event’s success. Most of exhibitors in SoftMart and TechMart World 2006 are enterprises and organizations from Hochiminh City and Southern provinces who are interested in the event. Up to now, the organizer received the number of register via the first survey step: - SoftMart: 129 enterprises and organizations have demand to supply and transfer more than 807 software and IT solutions which need to be support, contact with supplier at SoftMart - TechMart: 268 enterprises have demand to supply and transfer 437 technologies and equipments which need to be support, contact to suppliers at TechMart. The organizer will support supply-demand by provide services as follow: - Providing the cycle information for both supply and demand about sources of technology, equipment, software, and IT solutions to be able to deliver. - Guiding to connect supply-demand trade procedure, consulting information, technical, technology... 3. Conference is held by Ministry of Science and Technology Conference theme is “Evaluate intellectual and intangible property in enterprise” with plentiful, reality content to satisfy business’ needs. It identifies how to builds, protect, and trade intellectual and intangible property that help domestic enterprises understand well then take chances in cooperation with foreign investors once Vietnam enters WTO.
